Welcome to Brad Emerson, new VP for the Fisher House Board
Jim handed out minutes and agenda
Fisher Moment
The print of a painting from England supposed to be by Jonathan Fisher was passed around.
Brad thought that the style looked more like the work of his granddaughter Sarah Fisher Stevens who became Sarah Hinckley. Sarah was a very accomplished artist. Some of her paintings are viewable in Blue Hill.
Another possibility is Alvin Fisher. Also P. Fisher.
Other Fisher moments -
· Jim passed around an article on the History of the Jonathan Fisher Memorial
· We ogled at Rob’s Grandchild
Agenda Revisions
· Bob Slaven - pointed out that we may be one ???
· Badge circulated a list of board members contact information from Linda Hoskins
· Badge also circulated minutes from the last meeting from Linda Hoskins
Gary Vencil - Introduced a book Landon Carter's Uneasy Kingdom by Rhys Isaac. The book chronicles a plantation owner's struggle with the civil war.
This book might be a model for a book based on the Jonathan Fisher's journals and other writings.
Another example would be Margaret Thatcher Orick - Midwive's Tale. This book takes a first persons perspective.
