Fisher House Board Meeting

Minutes - None from December which was a mailing workshop
November minutes were tabled until February
Lessons learned from mailings
· need to put our address list in order
· Bob, Carol and Amey will work on scrubbing the mailing list
· $3,500+ were raised from the Christmas mailing
· approximately 31 contributions
· Bob moves that we establish a committee to review bylaws to see whether there is a membership requirement. Members would include Linda, Bob, Carol, Jim
· The newsletter can go out to the contributors, but need to have a way to manage the list
· motion to reimburse Amey $131.56 passed
· Donations of $5,680 includes about $600 in corporate sponsors for the ship model exhibit
· Bob raised the question of whether we need to submit a 990 form - we may not need to submit one unless requested. Need to check with the IRS about the necessity of submitting it. Blue Hill Historical Society does not submit one.
Financial Investment Committee Report
Jim handed around the package to the board
Jim, Brad, Amey and Bob met with representative of the BHBT
Ben Wooton - is willing to work on brokerage fees for the BH Historical Society
Amey moves formation of a financial committee
· Brad, chair Bob, Amey, Jim
· semi annual or quarterly meeting
· develop policies
· meet with investment managers
· report back to BHBT
Other fund raising activities
Maureen - printed throw / blanket
· Looking for a BW Photo of the reversing falls
· Need to sell 250 throws to go ahead. Buy at $22 and sell for $45 or so
· Might put an announcement in the next newsletter - mention some of the images from the Blue Hill Peninsula.
· Asking board members find venues for displaying the poster.
· Committee to address thank you / tax return
· Linda will call people to help write letters
· Monday 2:30 PM at Linda's home.
· using the newsletter to ramp up interest about the Fisher Symposium
· need to contact speakers - find out about interest
