6. At Col. Parker's attended the death of Mr. Eben Lyon of Haward (?) who was taken last evening with violent pain in his back and bowels, while returning from Sedgwick to Bluehill. He went in the evening to the stable by the meeting house, where he was found in the morning in distressing pain and very cold. He expired about 7 A.M. before medical assistance could be procured. No money found about him. About a week ago he showed some arsenic he had with him. This after his death was not found about him, but according to the physician the manner of his death was not similar to the effect of arsenic. Assisted in laying out Mr. Lyon. Wrote a letter to Mr. Emerson of Boston. P.M. attended conference at the meeting house. Black cow.

2. From Sullivan returned to B. making a stop by the way at Mr. Page's. Had hauled home from Mr. R. Parker's by Mr. A. Clough about 18 cwt. hay + 24 = 42. Found N. Allen at my house, much better. Sally down with measles.
3. Mowed away hay. N. Parker, Jr. brought about 18 cwt. from Mr. R. Parker. + 42 = 60. Tended hay, mowed a little. Mr. Allen left us. Paid $2.50 for our trouble and horse keeping.

Bluehill - September, 1802
1. Went after huckleberries. Picked about 7 or 8 quarts clean.
2. Worked about 2/3 of the day on the county road. Broke down my wheelbarrow. Mended it in part.
3. Finished mending my wheelbarrow. Fixed a board for spreading huckleberries. Had a lamb killed. Wrote upon a sermon.

Bluehill - October 1802

4. One of my lambs missing. Went to the head of the bay. In part made a reel. Michael Smith called on us.

6. Worked most of the day upon a sign board - 1½. Went toward night to Mr. Hinckley's. Found him exercised with distressing pain.

8. Painted a stern board for a fishing boat for Mr. Witham. Began a sermon. Made a short visit at Mr. H's.

20. Mr. Sewell went eastward. Assisted by Br. H. finished husking my corn. P.M. attended conference at P. Parker, Jr's. Came home in the evening. Found Mr. Cummings preaching a lecture at Col. Parker's. Mr. C. and wife lodged with us.

30. Wrote upon sermons. Went to Col. Parker's and Mr. Johnson's. Mrs. F. took in the morning 2 teaspoonsful solution tarter emetic. Caused severe vomiting, by which she was most overcome, so that for 2 hours it was difficult to keep her from fainting. Left very weak. Is. Johnson brought a bushel of grain from mill for me.

November 1802
